Hey there, Sweet Friends, today on the blog I’m sharing with you a little story about, the old and the new “Create With Cynthia” Van.

Vehicle for Moving Furniture

If you’re in the furniture painting business…

If you’re in the furniture-anything business..

you need a vehicle that will haul your furniture.

Van for Furniture Hauling

My old Van….. well it was old.

It wasn’t just my previous Van.  Most likely it had many previous owners.

The Van was over 20 years old and had over 200,000 miles on it. The Van was tired and last Thanksgiving it was really ready to take a rest. But I decided to keep on pushing it until the day before Treasurefest in March 2019.  And that, my Sweet Friends, cost me a little more than I had hoped for.

The Old Van Story

On Thanksgiving 2018, the Van was heading home to the Woods and when it got home, it could not make it up the dirt driveway.  As you all know, I live out in the woods and in November, it was a big muddy mess.  Not the type of adventure I had hoped for…the Van slide right down the driveway into the tree.

I don’t think the Van really liked the Woods.  It had multiple mishaps out in the Woods.  But Thanksgiving was the biggest mishap!  As I’m traveling up the driveway, it stopped, the back tires were spinning, but the Van wasn’t moving, and then it just start sliding backwards and then it got wedged between the tress!  (it = a human being trying to assist)

Poor Van, not just lost it’s passenger side mirror, but the back tire needed repair and the side door was damaged.

Well the picture above is what happens when you allow a friend to assist.

Of course, this was just the beginning of the Van mishaps, the story continues.

It was the day before March Treasurefest 2019.  I drove to the store to load the Van, with a feeling in my heart that she was done being pushed.  It was an ordinary day, I was just trying to get business done.  I knew I was pushing the Van to keep going, but I just really wanted to make it to TreasureFest.  After loading up at the store, I headed home to the Woods.   During the drive home the Van had two huge temper tantrums.  I could try an explain what a Van Temper Tantrum is but i’m not really sure.

Believe me this, that old Van was not going to TreasureFest.  As soon as I got home, I called Uhaul and rented a Uhaul Van.  Now that I knew the Van was undriveable (two mechanics assessed it as needing a new engine), I was, well…..

Van withdraws kicked in.  Day after day, I would have to re-think furniture purchases because I did not have an appropriate vehicle to haul the furniture.

I’d drive down the road and see a piece of furniture and I could not grab it.  It was HORRIBLE!

Finally last month, I headed into Princeton to check out used vehicles and of course I found the new van.  Tiffany was a beautiful white color with a blue stripe.  The new Van, a 2002 Dodge with only 50,000 miles was a government vehicle and perfect for moving furniture.  I call her Tiffany.  Tiffany is also a little temperamental, but I guess that’s just a Van thing.

Tiffany, the new van is hoping for a make-over soon!  She’s on the project list!  We’ll have to see when that happens, but until now.  Tiffany is happy!  She’s been to TreasureFest and she loves driving on the Bay Bridge. LOL

More on the Van later.  Hope you enjoyed the story!
