Do you need something to look forward to regularly?

You know, like a trip???

Where is your next trip scheduled?  Do you have one?

I love traveling. Who doesn’t?

There’s nothing bad about it except I miss my dogs and if my boys don’t join me, I miss them too.

When I get old I should probably get a trailer and travel around the world because if I don’t travel every three months I start to go a little crazy.

Traveling allows me something to look forward to. It’s not that I can’t live in the moment, believe me I know how to meditate, but the idea of any upcoming trip is so exciting.

In fact when I called my mom to tell her I was going to South Carolina first thing out of her mouth was, “Wow, you sure travel a lot!”  Guess Mom is just a little surprised because prior to divorce I didn’t travel much and lately I’m on an airplane every three months.

I know, the flower above has nothing to do with traveling.

But really it does, because I took this picture when I went to 411 Multiversity.  I’ll tell you all about it later.  In another blog post.  But right now, I’m here to tell you about another trip.

So, I’ve come to Charleston, South Carolina, for the Haven Conference.  A Design and DIY Blog and Conference, because there’s no place like home.

This is part of my new business… to learn all about blogging –  the in’s and out’s – and a way to make an income.

Goodbye corporate world!!!  Hello blogging!!!

So I haven’t had a chance to really see Charleston yet, but I plan to do so in the morning hours when it’s cool and possibly in the evenings, after my conference. BTW it’s 90 degrees here and I just heard a bout of thunderstorms out there.

So far at Haven, I’ve been fortunate enough to receive this big bag of goodies and be paired up with a Mentor KariAnne Woods from Thistlewood Farms.  I’ve been following Kari for over five years and she is the funniest writer I know of.  She makes me laugh every morning when I read about her drinking her sweet tea or wearing her red lipstick.  You can follow along on her blog here.

I’ve also met the nicest people EVER!!!  This woman Charlotte came up to me when I was sitting by myself to introduce herself.  Her website it “At Charlotte’s House,” and Carmona also walked up who I have also been following for years at Home Made by Carmona.

Really, the reason I was sitting alone was because I’m an introvert and I needed a minute to refresh myself, but nonetheless it was the sweetest thing ever.

Now, back to that bag of goodies…

In my corporate world days, I attended so many conferences, but truly none like this.  First off, the people here were SO friendly.  Everyone is so open to discussing “how to be successful at blogging,” it is truly amazing.

This bag didn’t include the normal goodies you get at the Healthcare conferences I’ve been to, it included things like, a bottle of paint from DecoArt and a candle from Antique Candle Works and a stencil from A Maker’s Studio.

Haven 2019 is in Atlanta, and you bet i’ll be there!  Although thankfully, I won’t have to wait that long as in September I’ll be traveling to Texas for the Pinner’s Conference.

Let me know where you plan to travel next?
