I love decorating for the seasons, Sweet Friends. Leaving Christmas behind left me dismal, as I still had multiple projects I wanted to work on and family and friends to celebrate with.

Transitioning my home decor from Christmas To Winter!

It’s such a nice way to keep the season alive. Today I am going to show you how to do it.

I knew I needed to transition my home decor from Christmas to Winter. The New Year is here. Transitioning from Christmas to Winter actually gave me hope and belief for the happiest of New Year’s!

When I was decorating for Christmas, I created my “Believe” sign. At that time, I decided for the Year 2020 I would skip the New Year’s resolutions and choose a word to focus on. I chose the word “Believe!”

“I believe if you work hard with good intention, then good things will happen.”

I used the word Believe all over my Christmas decor. Remember my post, “Front Door Holiday Decor and Five Things Needed to Decorate the Front Door!”

Check out how I transitioned my Front Door from Christmas to Winter. Basically, I removed the red Christmas items.

What do you think of my January front door? I’ve transitioned away from Christmas and back to winter with my White Wreath and Home Sweet Home sign.

The Home Sweet Home sign is on You Tube and you can watch it here.  The Believe sign was double sided and made for a super easy transition from Christmas to Winter. I just turned the sign around and now it displays a more winter saying, “Home Sweet Home!”

When you walk into my front door, you see a new Furniture Makeover, “Shutter Turned Table” and a DIY Home Decor Project, “Reclaimed Hardware Christmas Tree.” Those two projects were just completed this past week and I plan to share the “how to’s” within the next few months. I took down the Christmas Tree in the front entry and replaced it with the “Shutter Turned Table.”

When you pick up junk on the side of the road and work on furniture makeovers, you end up with alot of extra hardware and table legs.

What’s a girl gonna do with all the junk?

I love my Yarn Christmas Tree and they transition so well into winter. It was such a fun and easy diy project that you can read about here. If you missed the video on the Yarn Christmas Trees you can watch it here.

I loved the nutcrackers so much I incorporated them into my winter decorating, as well. I got a little hooked on Nutcrackers when I wrote the Nutcracker Christmas Table Decor after the Christmas Tablescape Blog that you can read about here.

For this part of my home I removed the Christmas Tree and added a new furniture piece to fill the space. What do you think of the transition, Sweet Friends?

I’ve been crafting alot. I’ve been making wreaths and garland and ornaments and Christmas Trees and it’s been so fun and so easy. Decorating your home doesn’t have to be difficult, take alot of time or cost a lot of money!

Craft Christmas Trees!

I love Christmas Trees!!! I mentioned it last week when I showed off my Mason Jar Lid Christmas Trees. Today I’m showing off my newest Christmas Tree, Yarn Christmas Trees. This DIY is so simple and inexpensive and doesn’t take long at all.

Materials needed for the Yarn Christmas Trees:

• Cones come in various colors, sizes and material type. I’d suggest using the FloraCraft Styrofoam Cone in White, 12 inch, 9 inch and 6 inch

• Yarn – I used the thickest yarn I could find.

• Glue Gun

• Glue Sticks

• Scissors

I had all of the items in my craft closet from prior projects. I placed links for each item above from Michael’s Arts and Crafts so you could easily replicate the project. Don’t forget to use your coupon.

Instructions for creating Yarn Christmas Trees:

1. Starting at the bottom of the cone, wrap yarn slowly around the cone adding glue as you go.
2. Push the yarn together as you are wrapping the yarn around the cone so there are no gaps. Be careful as the glue is hot.
3. When you reach the top of the cone, cut the yarn extra long and tuck under at the top.

I chose to make three Christmas Trees. You can always just make one Christmas Tree but for a bigger impact i’d suggest creating three, five or even seven. Think about your space and what would work well. Enjoy your Christmas Trees!

For this project I had three cones that I had purchased years ago for a project. Reusing is always my preference, but if you don’t have cones at home, I’d suggest purchasing the cone that is the color of your yarn, if possible.

Covering your cone is an optional step. I covered my cones because I was unsure whether or not the green cone would show through, as well as, I wanted to reuse my cone. I can now easily slide the paper cover off the cone. Then I can reuse the cone for another project later. This idea saves on cost and storage!
