IOD Decor Transfer on a Dresser!

Sometimes when your painting furniture it just doesn’t go the way you’d hoped.

Layer after layer of paint and the look your achieving just isn’t happening.

That’s when I pull out my IOD Decor Transfers. The one I used on this dresser is Midnight Garden Transfer #5.

A couple weeks back I posted, “Wood Dressers and What I love about them.” You can read about that here.

I was really unhappy with that post. I hated the way that first dresser looked?

Why I hit publish on that post is still unknown to me.

The Dresser was free, of course and it was difficult from the start because the bottom two drawers were missing.

I love to refurbish furniture but the carpentry part can sometimes throw me off, and this time it sure did.

Besides, I’ve only been at this new business less than a year so I probably need to just cut myself a little slack.

I decided to paint the wood panel in a Chalked Linen White by Rustoleum.  I started with a paint brush to get the paint into all the crevices and around the edges.  I chose the chalk paint because I had a can on hand and I wasn’t sure how the paint would adhere to the wood panels.  Once I had completed the crevices and around the edges, I filled up the Home Right Paint Stick EZ Twist.  The opposite wall is not wood paneling, but it still needed a coat of paint.
