Hi Everyone! I almost can’t believe it has been a week since I shared my knee story with y’all.
This past week went by so fast…
Wow, Knee Surgery
Wow, Luke’s First Communion
Wow, Flower’s from the husband
Wow, Work, work and more work.
I am so grateful to say that I am off crutches! Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. God Is So Good!
Laying around is a VERY difficult thing to do. It’s very easy to start to feel guilty every time you have to ask someone to help you with this and that, but my three boys were SO awesome! The Husband was terrific and I am very grateful for his presence in my life. All of the texts and emails from my friends and family truly meant the world to me!
You know who YOU are! XOXO
Thankfully I did not have to take time off work, so that I could keep my brain intellectually stimulated. The intellectual part of my brain can only work so long before the creative side of my brain starts wanting to express itself, I set up craft projects to do at each of the spots where I normally sit – in my Bedroom and in the Family Room. Besides watching HGTV, I get incredibly bored with everything else on the tube, I was able to work on some crafts and it was a great alternative to going nutty and getting horribly depressed about the surgery.
I was fortunate to attend Sarana Miller’s Yoga Retreat at Green Gulch in March and again at Wilbur Hot Springs in April and had lots of beautiful photographs from my trip.
Buddhas, hammocks, lizards, snakes, OH MY!

Photo cards are a great way to save money, express your creative side and keep in touch with those that you love. More on do-it-yourself tips in the future.
Although Sun Salutations were not part of my weekly regimen THIS WEEK….
I still took some time for some twists while laying in bed.
Lay on your back, bring your knees to your chest, and then allow your knees to fall to each side. Take at least 5 deep breaths on each side as you feel a stretch through your abdomen and back. I also used some arm weights throughout the day to try and keep up the strength in my arms. They hid perfectly in the corner of my room. If you don’t have a pair the investment is worth is. I think I got this pair years ago at Target.

Next week, I will share more about Sarana at Green Gulch. You may be inspired to join me there in October 2015. It is a trip for all levels of yogini’s and not to be missed!
Until then…
