Learn How to Stamp Easter Eggs using Iron Orchid Design products!

Here’s the story…..

About a month ago, when I pulled my Easter bin out of storage, I noticed a 12 pack of black chalkboard style plastic eggs. They were a purchase from last year but I never got around to decorating the eggs. Since I love black and white decor in my home, I thought stamping them with white might be super cute.

It was tempting to add more clay to the eggs, because the “Eggs with Clay” came out so pretty.

Since, the last Easter Eggs turned out so well, let’s get on with this one.

Easter Egg Decorating!

The story continues…

When I was looking for a project to do on my Facebook Live, I thought it might be fun to Stamp Easter Eggs. This project was fun, but a little challenging! In the moment of filming, and you can watch the video here, it felt like a DIY fail. But a little love and some q-tips later…… and BAM, the results are amazing. Don’t you agree?

There are so many ways to decorate Easter Eggs and nowadays you can find plastic eggs, wooden eggs or store bought blown out eggs. I say store bought, because if you are like me, you’ve tried your hand at blowing out eggs. Blowing out eggs can be a little tricky and a little time consuming and for this Blonde Lady, I just don’t have the patience.

So, I guess you can imagine my excitement when the idea of stamping the eggs with numbers came to mind. The challenge was getting a crisp image on a curved surface. It was a challenge but not impossible.

Instructions for creating Stamped Easter Eggs!

Step one: Gather your supplies.

Step two: Season your ink pad. Pour the ink from the tube onto the ink pad.

Tip: Season your stamps by running sand paper over each stamp. One time in each direction. Seasoning your stamp gives tooth the to stamp and holds ink onto the stamp.

Step three: Apply ink onto stamp, using ink pad.

Step four: Press stamp onto egg. Be careful not to shift just press stamp onto egg and then tickle the top of the stamp with your fingers.

Tip: You can use a mounting sheet to help with stamping. Just place the stamp onto mounting sheet, ink stamp and stamp egg. The mounting sheet comes with your stamps and can be cut into different sizes. Watch my Facebook Live video for more instructions here.

Step five: Use a tip to fill in the stamped image.
