Hello there, Sweet Friends, today on the blog I will be sharing with you about my “Pop Up Party” last weekend and the craft projects friends and I did using A Maker’s Studio products.

Craft Projects with A Maker’s Studio paint, stencils and stamps.

This past Sunday on the way to my store in Redwood City, I counted 52 cyclist on the five mile drive into town.  For the month of December, I have Craft Workshops at my store on Saturday and Sunday’s from 10am to 12 noon, just to name a few.  I hope you’ll stop by and “Create With Me”.  The address is 615 Woodside Road, Suite 3 in Redwood City, California.

The road is mezmorizingly gorgeous. The trees are so tall you can barely see the clouds in the sky. The sun struggles to shine through the branches and leaves. The colors are magnificent. This is why I moved out to the woods. Sometimes I even get lucky enough to be able to craft outside.  

Saturday, friends gathered at my Woodland Paradise for a “Pop-Up Party,” just community and gathering. We painted wood surfaces and stenciled and stamped beautiful words that remind us how to reflect on life.

I was so excited and grateful friends made the trek to my Woodland Paradise in the rain and stormy weather.  Northern California has been battling the “much needed” rain since Thanksgiving. It is much needed for our planet but for me and my new home it is an adjustment.

Mallory knocked it out of the park with this “Bless this Home” sign.  She was eager to get home and finish her project gluing ribbon to the edges.  

Here are the supplies we used to make the craft including links on how to purchase the products:

• Rescue and Restore Paint in color Blessed, Rescue and Restore Paint in color Southern Gentleman.
• A Maker’s Studio Chalk Art in a variety of colors.
• A Maker’s Studio Adhesive Mesh Stencils.
• Wood Surfaces, these can be purchased at any craft store.
• Paint Brushes in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Aren’t the signs with the words “blessed” and “grateful” so perfect as a pair. My friends Monica and Sam created these treasures.

Restoring Thrift Store Items Video Series

I love finding something to refurbish, searching for the right color and then selecting how I want to finish it off.  If you’d like to read about Day 1 and Day 2 click here.

Waxes, Sealers, Glazes and Gel Stains Finish a Project Nicely

Sealers, Waxes, Gel Stains, and Glazes are just a few of the ways that you can finish off a refurbished item. A Maker’s Studio has so many options.  This round coffee table in the photo above I used Rescue and Restore Paint Blessed and finished it off with the Light Antiquing Wax.  You can shop my website for these products.

Sealers are great to be used over the Rescue and Restore paint and provide a heavy duty sealer surface on items that get dirty quickly.  The Matte Sealer by A Maker’s Studio goes on as a white but dries clear.  Usually two to three coats is recommended.

Restoring Thrift Store Items

A Maker’s Studio carries Embellishing Wax in Gold, Silver and Copper and can be purchased here.  Another option is the Antiquing Wax in Light or Dark and the Cerusing Wax.  These products can be purchased here. The Cerusing Wax is best used over a color other than white.  

Gel Stains are water based and smell incredible with the essential oils that are added.  They come in the following colors: Auburn Mahogany, Windsor Grey, Kensington Black, Antique Pine, English Walnut and Hazel Mahogany.  Which is your favorite color?  They can be purchased here.
